I just played it for a few minutes. The concept is funny. I like it. I think what would make it more funny would be to give the customer and barista facial expressions. If the customers could become irate and throw things, that would be even better. Nice work.
Hi there! Thank you for your comment, I agree some facial expressions or more CGs would've been nice, it was my first time making a pixel art game and I didn't really know how to go about it. I will keep this in my for my next game!
When you say it's your first pixel art game, I can relate to that. I'm determined to create my own game, but I've never developed any sort of sophisticated game before. I've made simple games, like pong, but what I'm looking to do this time around goes far beyond that. I still can't figure out what tools I'm going to use. I think I'll just make it up as I go along and see what it turns into. I think you're on to something with the angry barista theme. I haven't worked as a barista, but I've had jobs working with customers at restaurants and such. I know how frustrating it can be, and how ridiculous customers can be. There are millions of people out there who can closely relate to this sort of thing. There's not really any way to take this frustration out on anything, but your game provides that sort of outlet. I think you should keep refining your game and see what happens.
Ah I totally get it, I want to make a bigger game project as well, have been writing and planning it since 2017 or so. As for the angry barista game, that was my main idea, got a bit tired of all the cozy games where you run a coffee shop and have no issues at all and everyone is polite and happy. I've worked in restaurants for over 6 years and I can tell you things are never that rosy. I guess I wanted a game where you get to be rude without consequences irl if that makes any sense. Good luck with your projects!!
